Anne Warfield Martin 1893 - 1973 Foundress of the Catholic Evidence League
The Cathedral Library & Gift Shop is operated by volunteers and owned as a semi-autonomous arm of The Catholic Evidence League (CEL). CEL was founded by Anne Warfield Martin in 1923 under the authority of Archbishop Michael J. Curley. The league reinforces knowledge, teaching, and truths of the Catholic faith. One of Anne Warfield Martin's missions was to have a Catholic lending library. We dedicate this library to her out of respect and gratitude for her vision.
The Library & Gift shop have occupied its current home at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen since shortly after its dedication on November 19, 1959. For more information and the history of The Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, please visit their website.
The Cathedral Guide books are available in the Library.
